This unique apartment is built into the thousand year old wall of the ancient castle and over the gate. La Porta sleeps 4 people with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.

This classic medieval hill-town is made from warm bricks and offers an authentic setting with postcard views in the heart of Tuscany. 

  The famous neighbor just below town is the Mt Oliveto Abbey, the rich Renaissance mother church of a monastic order. Many other historical towns and important sites are nearby. Take a train from the local station 15 minute drive away or drive to Siena, about 40 minutes; 1 hour and a half to Florence.
 

At the front of the apartment is a terrace with a seating area and terra cotta pots with geraniums. Up at the town park you have panoramic views over the Province of Siena.

This small hill-town has a general store which is also a coffee shop, and another cafe' with outside seating where you can enjoy a light lunch. A trattoria is serving classic local dishes on the little main square and just outside the walls is a pizzeria with an extensive menu and affordable prices. The town also has a hairdresser and a post office.

Within 20 minute drive you'll find several larger towns with more stores, shops, markets and restaurants. The location is 30 km south-east of Siena in the center of the province.
