Casa Irma is a lovely country home halfway
between Lucca and Pisa; with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths it sleeps 8 people comfortably.
Originally a farmhouse, Casa Irma has been
remodeled into a beautiful home. The owners
took great care in maintaining the charm of
the
old farm building. They put together a
collection of decorative objects,
like iron farming tools, terracotta pots and jugs, hand-woven
fabrics that you can find all over the house. The
rooms are decorated with attractive country
furniture.
The atmosphere is warm and cosy; the
large stone Tuscan fire place is most enjoyable to use during the
cooler months.
In the house there is a great choice of serving
dishes and table ware as the owners
love to entertain, and they change the
table decorations according to the colours of the
season. interior
All the ground floor rooms open out to
the garden. The space outside is vast and very
well kept with wide lawns, abundance of fruits
trees, olive trees and grape vines - it
is easy to find a quiet and shaded spot
to relax. At a corner of the house open to the outside but
covered, is a BBQ oven and
dining area with a long table.

For tennis players there is
a tennis-court. In the summer time you can cool off in the
swimming pool. And children have their own
equipped play ground in a shaded area
under the trees.
Paved road from the village,
and few meters of gravelled road leads you up to the
house. The distance to the village is under 1 kilometer, it's an
easy 20-minute walk along this level road.
Attached to the house there is
second
residence, with separate
entrance. It belongs to another member
of the family who seldom goes there
- it is not rented out. Between
the two sections is a tall hedge to
allow for privacy.
The care taker of the grounds lives nearby, he
is a good cook of typical local cuisine, on
request he can prepare very good meals.
